It’s incredibly fulfilling to be given the opportunity to accompany a client from a new business idea through the creation of the brand, which is the foundation for the success of everything that follows.
Even more satisfying and fun are the collaborations that engage us in the new identity’s wide-ranging implementation throughout the business.
Amanda Olusanya, 10-year owner of Allen Ray Salon on the Skyway in Minneapolis, reached out to me to help her create the brand for her new vision: A men’s salon concept with its flagship location (the former Winston’s barbershop) in Uptown, James Irving Grooming Room.
We created a visual brand that reflects the location’s storied past, communicates Amanda’s powerful vision for a unique salon for men, and highlights her passions as a business owner and world traveler.
We’ve been extending the brand into the interior bit by bit, including the commissioning of a bespoke mural on the wall.
This week, the outside of James Irving came to life through exterior signage I designed myself and I’m very happy with how the brand reflects the business’ authentic identity, from the outside in!
